This Week: New Change the Dates and All-Change in the Office

The Details

This week has been a busy one, featuring lots of wedding “Change the Date” card designing, and lots of big potential change in the form of a newly pending office and house move.

Early on in the week, my main project was designing Change the Date / Save the Date cards in A6 size for my new Express wedding collection.

The Express collection is designed to be simple yet expressive, with single-sided cards in black and white, and coloured and pattered envelope liners to express my clients’ own wedding style and colours. The single-sided nature and pared down designs will (hopefully) allow me to get these out to clients within just a couple of days. Yay!

I’m still a tiny way off offering these for sale—I am working on the main invitations and response cards, plus the coloured envelope liners next week, but with any luck I should be ready to test and photograph within the next couple of weeks at the latest…

The cards will be available to customise and buy directly through www.DoraAndDeb.com and through my Etsy store.

Moving Spaces and Getting Organised

In other news, Friday and Saturday were devoted to a grand office organisation-athon to get ready for (another) office move, which will probably be early in the new year.

In the main, this consisted of the good-old desk clearance and general tidy up, plus (the bit that took all the time): going through all the dreaded old paper work and getting rid of anything—and there was a lot—over 10 years old. It’s so surprising how much junk paperwork I always end up hoarding. Thank goodness for paperless bank statements, as hopefully I won’t ever have to go through anything quite like that again.

As quite a lot of the paperwork was relatively sensitive, and there was so much of it, I incinerated it. It was actually totally cathartic! Goodbye Islington Council Tax reminders, adieu stacks of old bank statements, bye bye disputes… plus it kept me toasty warm baby-sitting the fire in the cold weather too!

Next week is probably going to be split between work, and getting organised for a house move just up the road – which is coming sooner than the office move, thank goodness as I’m not sure how I’m going to move my main printer “Big Bertha”!

I’ll speak again next week,

Best
